Hawk a iPhone3G on eBay - Approx $1299.00 USD

NO CONTRACT - Still need a data & wireless plan anyways! Have approx $1300.00. You'll have an iPhone 3G. See eBay listings.

Now, case in point. The 3G is 299.00 for a 16GB model, + a 3 year contract. As I see it, you sort of have to signup to a carrier for a plan anyways. So is this eBay price justified. I guess if iphone stock limitations and consumer demand warrant it.. the hawk is on!

Is the Apple Mighty Mouse - Not so Mighty?

The Mighty Mouse is a fantastic wireless bluetooth option for some, for others maybe not,. Reviewers at the Apple Store, have rated it more poorly then not. Thier issues are with the Bluetooth connection disconnects and the choppy scrolling features. Some have lagging issues with mouse tracking. Remember that most wireless mouse pointing devices are battery operated . Keep them fresh for optimal performance.

Connecting your iPod,iPhone and iTouch to your TV

iFood for thought.

It's simple enough to connect your iPod and iPhone to your TV. Using the Component AV Cable, available at the Apple Store, all you have to do is connect it to an available video source. Then you are showing off your photos and video collection. Now wouldn't it be amazing if they created a wireless AV dock for your iPhone. You could then be surfing the net with your TV and using the iPhone or iPod Touch as the controller.

One iPod Dock too many – How do I choose?

Currently the Apple Store boasts an amazing 42 different iPod Docks and external speakers. It’s a drop in the bucket to an astounding number of iPod docks available on the market today. Your choices are even more numerous. From clock radios, to wireless doc hubs that connect your home AV systems, to portable iPod attached handheld speakers, or plain old headphone-jack desk speakers.

Things to remember:
- Not all docks are compatible with each model type of iPod.
- Not all docks are created equal. If you purchase a docking system, remember it can be returned during the return and exchange policy period at most retailers. So use it, return it or exchange it, if it doesn’t meet your expectations.

Our Top Picks.

Alarm Clock Dock - The iHome iH9B6 Clock Radio is a fantastic choice for a bed side alarm clock dock, and with decent reviews.

Speaker Dock - Bose® SoundDock® Portable Digital Music System, is a little on the pricey side, but far and away the best sound performance in a docking speaker system.

Handheld Portable – The Creative TravelSound i80 Speaker for iPod nano is great for the day at the beach. You can get your beach boogie on with this. It’s not extremely loud and boasts a 15 hour charge time.

Bluetooth - Getting the correct one for your new iPhone.

Get the Right Bluetooth Headset for your iPhone.
For some, the wireless Bluetooth headset is an annoyance for others it’s a necessity, what makes one headset a must have, and another a piece of junk. First of all, it’s a lot about preference. You need to understand what you, the wearer will find most comfortable. Do you want an in ear, or a floater? Some come with a gel that fits in ear, as well as some that are more like traditional foam covered earphones.

I’m a fan of the floating ear piece or the insert gels like the Plantronics Discovery 655, now the floating headset lacks a bit of audio performance when the headset isn’t correctly positioned over the ear, but it is comfortable enough to wear for longer durations. The gel headset is a soft insert and is the clearest audio. The pocket charger is fantastic using AAA batteries to charge the unit when your in a pinch.

The Apple Store reviews for the iPhone have the Plantronics Discovery and other Plantronics model rated highest by the reviews by you. Do you agree with them?

Other considerations to think about! Battery life and charge time.
Shop Amazon.com for Plantronics Bluetooth Headsets.

You need to download the Adobe Integrated Runtime (Air) first. .Air applications run on both MAC OS and Windows platforms. This YouTube desktop application speeds up searching and watching videos, it's just missing the extra info that you might want to see about the vid, or a link back to the YouTube listing. Overall it's fast and easy to use. Hopefully they will fix the upgrade message as you can't upgrade due to a config error and must say no to launch the app.

HD + Movies + UI = AppleTV - No it's the upcoming XBOX

Ok, the new iteration of the XBOX will look more like a PMC (Personal Media Center), then an online gaming console it was designed as. One day soon, you'll be able to download Halo 10 and the Sex in all the cities!! It's all about being the ALL-IN_ONE Device... I still think a dig-cable tuner and DVR software would be needed, I don't want to have to pay for TV shows if i'm already paying my cable bill. Ok so the hard-drive the addition of Netflix and a UI that looks more Apple then Microsoft. More over at XBOX.com

iPhone 3G 1st weekend round-up

iPhone 3G Blues:
The first weekend of iPhone sales now on the books, and numbers to probably be released, to push more global hype coming soon, what was the launch story! With rumors and conjured stories and false statements galore, what happened, a total system melt down with the iTunes crashing due to, too many 1.0 phones activating and the activation of the 3G during the early hours of 3g-day. Who every thought releasing the iPhone 2.0 software update the same day, probably should re-think their career path and MobileMe is more like not mobile at all right now. As well hopefully we won't see any new iPhone unboxing surfacing on Youtube, the iFixit team did a fantastic job being first.

Did Apple create a global shortage and false sell-out hysteria? It doesn't really matter to us, we have a wait and see approach to buying any new hand-helds or technology equipment. We read the reviews and buyers guides and make sure that our hard earn money makes the best possible purchase it can make.

1st weekend top stories:
Apple's iPhone activation server problems (updated 2x)" ZDNet Blogs: The Apple Core
"'iPocalypse' now: The perils of event marketing" Fortune: Apple 2.0
"Plenty of iPhones at Apple stores on Day 2" Orange County Register
"Apple Bungles its iPhone 3G Launch" Time
"MobileMe Fails to Launch" TidBITS

The iPhone 3G has it's hits and misses, review after review states pro's and con's. It's fairly simple, if you own a 1.0 phone, don't upgrade it now unless you want to get off the EDGE network and surf using 3G on a hefty data package. If you don't own an iPhone and want an iPod, a phone, fantastic wifi and 3G mobile browsing check it out at an Apple Store near you.
With sales above 1 million in the first weekend Apple has announced, read the press release. Coupled with approx 10 million 2.0 downloads. The iHype continues........

What is the one thing Apple TV is missing?

Ok, maybe it's missing a few things, but the one thing that would make Apple TV a must buy for me, would be the inclusion of DVR functions. I don't always want to purchase a TV show, since I'm paying my Cable bill, I want my old VCR functionality, now I need another box. Now, Archos TV+ seems to do it. It records tv, has portable web functions too. It has almost the same form factor as the Apple TV. I could download the movies and copy them over. Well, maybe you should take a look, maybe it's the Apple TV replacement. Maybe not. Url: www.archos.com

After you take your viking skills for a tilt, give a comment on what you think. It's iPhone Web development old-school. It's free and right now VikingSmackdown is holding a contest to celebrate turning 1.

No 3G iphone for you! - Expect shortages

3G iPhone iMadness... Has everyone gone iCRAZY!!!

iDay is just around the corner, the i-Hype machine keeps on rolling. Blog buzz a-side, consumers are pissed off at the new data rates in the US(AT&T) and Canada(Rogers). The Advertising machine is in full gear too! Okay the iPhone 3G is a modest upgade to the 1.0 vesion and 2.0's GSM to EDGE update is really the core value here. The rest is mostly software upgrades an Apple unlocking the software development vault to allow third party application development.

When you get up this Friday July 11th, don't bother running out to your local AT&T or Rogers Wireless shop expecting to get a new 3G hand-set. At least US Customers can sit at home and wait for the "we'll be back soon sticky" to come off the Apple Store and make a mad click attempt a securing a new iPhone. Canadian iPhone Stock reports approx 20 iphones per store.

UPDATE: Rogers has announced a $30 6GB Data Plan bowing to Consumer pressure. -
http://www.ruinediphone.com/

If you have $200 + $1000 plus dollars to drop this year you migh be camping on you're milk crate at you local retailer.. the iPhone is "YES" a cool phone, but it's just a phone.. i think it would be a great x-mas gift. If you can find one.

invisibleSHIELD for iPhone 3G
Protect your iPhone investment, it took me less than 3 days to nick my screen on my last phone. Don't let this happen to you. Scratch protect your phone today.

Invisible Shield by Zagg.com is an easy to apply scratch protector. It doesn't hamper the use of the touch screen, like other bulky cases do.

Using Graboid 1.2 - TV and Movie Downloading and Streaming

Using Graboid 1.2
Graboid! What is Graboid? It's an extremley fast file downloading and streaming client for TV and Movie files.
Graboid version 1.2 has made finding and watching tv or movie on the internet faster than ever before possible.

Step 1:
Create an account: Get a Graboid account. Download the client software and setup your account. Graboid does not require any credit card information to setup the FREE account.

Step 2:

Sign up for the FREE 4GB a month account. Note today's date. Your 4GB limit will refresh this day each month. Login into the client with your account name and password.

Step 3: Select your Language filter

  • Select the options menu [top right corner of the screen]
  • Select the language flag of your choice. ** note that this removes all uncheck langauge files.

Step 4: Main Graboid Menu Screen
Using the menu or the search, find the movie you would like to see.

Step 5: Choosing a Graboid Video

When you click on the item, it expands to a selection menu. Notice that the video source is located under the Selections title. Now DVD and HD content is always better quality. But if you are using a Graboid FREE account, we recommend using the xVid or Divx sources. Good quality and smaller file sizes.

Choose to Play(Stream the file) or Download it. If you download the file, you'll find the download directory path in the preferences menu [top right corner] .

**** Graboid is spyware and virus free, using the software and the legality of it, in some countries is under debate.

Converting the files on Graboid to work on a portable device?

Burning Tivo Recordings to DVD

Tivo to DVD
Recording TV to Tivo has changed the way a major majority of us watch television. Now it's fairly easy to record and play back and pause television on the Tivo, they also make watching your recorded content a snap, using the free TivoToGo Desktop which allows you to transfer Tivo content to any PC or Mac in your home. Add in the Tivo wireless adapter and you don't have any cables to worry about.
Once you have transfered the content to your computer then you'll need to convert the content to DVD format. Changing your content has been made simple by Roxio.com with Toast 9 for the Mac and My Media Creator for the PC.
Files recorded on the Tivo are a .tivo extension and file need to re-encoded to MPEG-2 format and then converted to .VOB (DVD) Format.
