Zune 80GB vs IPOD 80GB

I just did a price check on the zune 80 gb and the ipod 80 gb through shopzilla, It seems that the pricing right now on these two models are comparitive. So why would you choose one over the other.

The Zune 80GB should win over the IPOD 80GB!

The Zune 80GB sports a 3.2" diagonal LCD and the flash players get a 1.8" diagonal. What this means for the 80GB is a screen nearly double the size of the iPod 80 LCD.

Resolution for both units is 320x240 pixels, and in both cases the pixel density (or sharpness) is 2x-4x times higher than the best laptop screens out there.

The Zune is operated in portrait mode then flips horizontal when playing video. This is a nice plus over the IPOD 80GB.

The glass LCD which makes the screen twice as scratch resistant as a plastic LCD.
Brightness has 3 settings and the images look amazing, crisp, and colorful.

Reflections are more obvious in the glass screen especially when viewing at a side angle, but not noticeable from a direct front view.

So do you still buy the ipod! Well maybe you do. The ipod has a large market share, and becuase of this, you can find many more thrid party accesories. I'm not sure I'd say iTunes is a plus, but it makes purchasing music a little easier. Getting you're own CD's and or DVD's on to it, requires other applications, but you'll need the same for the ZUNE.

The ZUNE allows a more flash drive way of managing your media.

So check out both options. Go to a local store and play with both!
